Overview

Reducing inefficiencies, improving stock control, and maximising revenue potential.

The challenge

Our client has complex IT systems and processes that power its fast-paced retail business.

Different vendors provide a range of services to support their ERP, stock, and sales systems. With a number of bespoke solutions that provide data to in-store users and stock rooms for ordering and replenishing stock, the efficient operation of these systems is vital to maximising revenue.

However, backlog issues, data challenges, and underutilisation of expensive equipment were causing frustration. Without effective stock management and accurate data, shelves could be empty, and revenue could be lost.

The how

How we delivered Organisational Engineering™

  • We quickly deployed Technology subject matter experts and Solutions Architects to work with their IT and business teams in an advisory mode
  • The modernisation roadmap was mapped out, and gaps were established
  • Our Scrum Team was then engaged to provide development-as-a-service for their applications on mobile hand-held devices, web, EPOS and back-office channels
  • We introduced Azure DevOps to modernise software development and project delivery, and the embedded team works closely with product owners and the QA team to deliver regular releases
  • With predictable costs and technical domain knowledge continuity, our client’s IT service delivery adds value internally without the challenges of budget approval delays and resourcing lead times.
